Kelley first came to the Virgin Islands in 1999 crewing a chartered sailboat out of St. Thomas. Having visited all the islands, Kelley decided that she would return to St. Croix after her massage training in Oregon. Kelley became nationally certified and licensed to practice massage and returned to her paradise of St. Croix.
Kelley first started her career at the Beeston Hill Rehabilitation Center working with Physical therapists, chiropractors and personal trainers helping patients return to their strength and wellness. This was "like an apprenticeship in injury massage," says Kelley. "The proper care for chronic injury was stressed over and over by her mentors at Beeston Hill."
While working at Beeston Hill, Kelley also took appointments at the Hideaway Spa providing relation, deep tissue and reflexology massage as well as body treatments such as scrubs and wraps.
Kelley moved on to become the Spa Manager at the Divi Carina Bay Resort's Spa when the Spa opened. Starting the new spa from an empty space was an excellent learning experience for Kelley and prepared her to take on the unsurpassable opportunity of owning her own practice: "One Love Massage".
Kelley feels truly at peace in her new and private space. |
